BULK TRASH -- 3rd THURSDAY OF THE MONTH
Bulk trash must be placed curbside no later than 7 am of the day of pickup, and no earlier than 24 hours prior to a scheduled pickup. You are subject to a fine if trash is left curbside at other times.
The Bulk Trash Pickup Program features bulk trash collection of large household items and tree trimmings, up to 10 cubic yards in size, for residential customers. Items accepted for bulk trash pickup include appliances, furniture, carpet, mattresses, toys, wood scraps, cabinet doors, tree clippings, leaves in boxes/bags or tires (4 max.) Hazardous waste -- such as motor oil, paints, car batteries, fertilizers, propane tanks, etc -- are NOT accepted for bulk trash (Broward County offers disposal of these items on a regular schedule -- for dates and locations contact the County at 954-765-4999). The City provides special pickups by appointment, for a fee, for items exceeding the 10 cubic yard limit and for additional services -- contact them at 954-828-8000 for more information. The City now recycles 100% of all yard waste. Separating yard waste from other bulk trash at the curb helps keep disposal costs down. Also please separate out glass items such as mirrors, glass doors, windows, etc. for safe handling. Pile trash in areas away from parked cars, fences, trees, overhead wires, or other obstacles that interfere with large loading equipment. Bulk trash must come from your property -- no combining trash with neighbors or trash imported from other locations.

City of Fort Lauderdale Parks program will deliver a truckload of FREE mulch to your door upon request.
MULCH helps save water, reduce weeds, build soil as it naturally decomposes, and create attractive landscapes. This program also saves tax dollars as each load diverted for recycling saves disposal costs of up to $93 per ton! But you all know that!

ELECTRONICS RECYCLING
Growing at three times the rate of other wastes, electronics is the newest challenge in environmentally friendly waste disposal. If not properly disposed of, electronics can release hazardous materials into our environment. To help alleviate this problem, Broward County’s Waste and Recycling Services provides Broward County residents an opportunity to dispose of electronics in an enviromentally friendly manner. Since 2001 more than 1,200,000 pounds of unwanted electronics have been recovered, including 100,000 pounds of lead.
Broward County partners with Achievement and Rehabilitation Centers (ARC Broward), a non-profit organization serving people with disabilities, to collect, refurbish or de-manufacture end-of-life electronics. ARC participants learn new skills and receive valuable work training in the disassembly of computers. The recovered materials are then shipped out for recycling or environmentally safe disposal. Items accepted for recycling are: computers, monitors, keyboards, mouses, terminals, printers, modems, cell phones, rechargable batteries, televisions and copiers. The following are NOT accepted: stereos, speakers, appliances, DVDs, VCRs, or musical instruments.
Drop offs are accepted Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm at ARC Broward, 10250 NW 53rd St., Sunrise
and Saturdays between 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the North Collection Center at 2780 N. Powerline Rd., Pompano Beach and South Collection Center at 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd., Hollywood. Proof of residency in Broward County is required. Contact 954-577-4160 for more information.

(3) A container enclosure shall incorporate a gate or door to facilitate container servicing or have at least one (1) open side which side may not be open to the street. The slab, floor, or ground within the enclosure shall be level with the adjoining area so as to allow for the easy removal and servicing of containers.
